CIUDAD HIDALGO, Mexico (AP) — Mexico's incoming president wants the United States, Canada and Mexico to come up with a joint development plan as a way to curb mass migration. President-elect Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador made the comment Sunday as thousands of Honduran migrants streamed through southern Mexico hoping to reach the United States. He says the three nations need to invest in building up the poor areas of Central America and southern Mexico.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — President Donald Trump rode to his improbable victory in 2016 by winning a troika of Rust Belt states where there are relatively few Latinos. This was supposed to be the election Latinos struck back. But as Election Day nears, polling shows it's more affluent and predominantly white college-educated women with whom Democrats have made the most inroads, while Latinos haven't fully turned against Trump and his Republican Party.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Democrats are expected to re-open the House investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election if they win the majority in the November midterms. But they would have to be selective in what they investigate. California Rep. Adam Schiff has said his party would have to "ruthlessly prioritize the most important matters first." He's the top Democrat on the House intelligence panel.

ISTANBUL (AP) — Turkey says it will announce details of its investigation into the killing of Saudi Arabian journalist Jamal Khashoggi on Tuesday. And U.S. congressional leaders say the Gulf kingdom _ in particular its crown prince _ should pay a price for the death of the writer in the Saudi consulate in Istanbul. The announcement by the Turkish president that he will "go into detail" about the Khashoggi case heightened hopes for some clarity in a case shrouded in mystery.

CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) — About 30 people have been taken to hospitals after a floor collapsed during a party at a condominium clubhouse in South Carolina near the campus of Clemson University. Dozens of people tumbled into the basement. One partygoer tells the Independent Mail of Anderson that people were jumping to a popular song when the floor caved in. Clemson City Police said nobody was trapped and none of the injuries appeared to be life-threatening.
