PATTANI, Thailand (AP) — Officials say two bombs have exploded near a hotel in southern Thailand, killing one employee and injuring 29 others.

They say the explosions outside the Southern Hotel in Pattani town occurred late Tuesday.

Police Lt. Col. Sirisak Hwanguhlam said Wednesday the first bomb exploded in the hotel's car park, but caused no casualties. He said the second bomb planted in a car went off 20 minutes later in front of the hotel, killing a 25-year-old woman who worked in the hotel's restaurant.

Hospital officials said 29 people were injured.

The explosion damaged several rooms in the hotel and other hotel facilities, some of which caught fire.

It is the fourth car bombing this year in the Muslim south, which is beset by a separatist insurgency.
