BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Police say they arrested a man after he forced entry into a woman's home and threatened her with a gun in western Idaho.

KTVB-TV reports police were called to the Meridian home Sunday afternoon, but the Nampa man had fled before officers arrived.

The woman had a no-contact order against the man.

Police say investigators tracked the man to a desert area south of Kuna, leading to a nearly four-hour standoff.

The Ada County Sheriff's Office, Meridian police and Idaho State Police responded to the scene to negotiate with the man.

Jefferson Griffith was later arrested on suspicion of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and other allegations. He was booked into the Ada County Jail.

It was unclear if the 53-year-old has an attorney.
