DRAPER, Utah (AP) — Utah National Guard officials say one of its chaplains has died while swimming laps at a pool in West Jordan.

They say the cause of Captain Corey C. Holmgren's death is under investigation.

The adjutant general of the Utah National Guard — Major General Jefferson Burton — announced the death of Holmgren on Sunday.

Holmgren was a member of the 19th Special Forces Group at Camp Williams in Bluffdale, Utah.

National Guard officials say he was on orders at Camp Williams supporting an event for special forces soldiers recently returned from deployment overseas and their families.

Holmgren was married with children, but a complete list of his survivors along with funeral plans weren't immediately available.
