ZION NATIONAL PARK, Utah (AP) — Zion National Park officials say a canyon in the park is closed due to a search and rescue operation in progress Tuesday morning.

Park officials did not release additional information on the operation in Hidden Canyon but said in a separate Twitter post that a flash flood watch has been issued for Zion until 10:00 p.m.

The post says showers and thunderstorms are expected to produce heavy rain and that flooding is expected in some canyons.
