LOGAN, Utah (AP) — A Utah woman accused of attempting to assist in a suicide will likely spend the next three months in jail awaiting trial.
The Herald Journal reports Teresa Clark of Logan was in court Wednesday for dual hearings, but instead she pleaded guilty in a new case recently filed against her, and a trial date was set in the attempted aggravated murder case.
Clark was arrested Jan. 29, and accused of stealing the diabetes drug Metformin from a family member last fall. Clark waived her right to that hearing and pleaded guilty to theft.
A trial is set to begin May 29 in the attempted murder case charged against Clark after she allegedly tried to help another woman end her life.
Defense attorney Michael McGinnis attempted to secure Clark's release from jail until trial, but his request was denied.
