Victim, suspect identified in Twin Falls fatal shooting

TWIN FALLS, Idaho (AP) — The Twin Falls County Coroner's Office has identified a Twin Falls man as the victim of a fatal shooting.

The Times-News reports (http://bit.ly/2rdcNT5 ) William Newton Scott died Friday night in what authorities are calling a homicide.

City Spokesman Joshua Palmer says Billy Duane Johnson, also of Twin Falls, is being held on suspicion of being a felon in possession of a firearm while police investigate the shooting.

Scott died at the scene after life-saving efforts by police and paramedics were unsuccessful.
