WOODRUFF, S.C. (AP) — Authorities have identified the man who died when his pickup truck overturned following a 25-minute police chase in South Carolina.

Spartanburg County Coroner Rusty Clevenger says 54-year-old Arthur Allen King of Woodruff died from injuries suffered in the wreck late Tuesday.

Woodruff Interim Police Chief Todd Hendrix said one of his officers tried to make a traffic stop and King sped away. King's vehicle overturned, and the officer chasing him, 31-year-old Beau Roberson of Woodruff, ran off the road minutes later.

Roberson was treated and released from a hospital.

South Carolina Highway Patrol Lance Cpl. Bill Rhyne said King was not wearing a seat belt. The officer was.

The vehicles did not collide.
