CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — Snow has caused slick driving conditions for travelers in many parts of Wyoming.
The Wyoming Department of Transportation says no unnecessary travel is advised Monday afternoon on a 50-mile stretch of Interstate 25 between Casper and Douglas.
Earlier in the day, a 35-mile section of I-90 between Sheridan and Buffalo was closed because of winter weather conditions.
The National Weather Service has posted a winter weather advisory for Johnson, Natrona, Hot Springs, Washakie and Fremont counties. Up to 8 inches of snow was possible in the Casper and Thermopolis areas, with higher amounts in the mountains.
The system ushered in much colder temperatures. Many areas of the state will see temperatures plummet into the single digits Monday night and highs only in the teens Tuesday.
