UTV explosion injures 3, starts wildfire in Utah

AMERICAN FORK CANYON, Utah (AP) — A UTV explosion that injured three people has also ignited a wildfire in American Fork Canyon.

KSL-TV of Salt Lake City reports (http://bit.ly/2ajjnQC) that three people, including a 7-year-old child were hospitalized. But the child went to University of Utah Burn Center.

The resulting fire burned 7 acres by 3:30 p.m. at the Major Evans Gulch & North Fork area.

The public is being asked to avoid the area.

The Lone Peak Fire District has also evacuated all nearby campgrounds.

Two hand crews, two engines and a helicopter are working on the fire.
