SALINA, N.Y. (AP) — Police says they're investigating after shots fired at an apartment complex in a suburb of Syracuse narrowly missed an infant inside a car.
The Onondaga County sheriff's office says it happened early Sunday in the Town of Salina.
Authorities say tenants of the Orchard Estates Apartment complex were awakened by the sound of gunshots being fired around 4:20 a.m.
They say several vehicles in a parking lot of the complex were damaged. A man and a woman with a six-week-old baby were in their car during the gunfire. Police say all three were unharmed but one of the shots came within inches of striking the child.
Authorities say residents reported seeing an SUV with four men speeding from the area.
