LAS VEGAS (AP) — Authorities in Las Vegas are investigating whether an 87-year-old man had a medical episode before his clothing became entangled in his vehicle as it dragged him to his death in the parking lot of an apartment complex.

Police said Monday the man apparently tried to get out of his 2012 Dodge Grand Caravan as he was backing the vehicle out of a garage a little after 8 a.m. Monday at complex off West Katie Avenue near Hualapai (WAHL'-uh-peye) Way.

Police say the man's clothing got caught by the moving vehicle and he was dragged about 25 feet before being pinned against a raised parking lot median.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man's name wasn't immediately made public, pending an autopsy by the Clark County coroner's office.
