NEW YORK (AP) — Police say a dispute in a Rochester, New York, bar spilled outside and erupted into gunfire that left one man dead and seven other people injured.
Police Chief Michael Ciminelli (sih'-mih-NEHL'-ee) says seven men and one woman were shot at around 2 a.m. Sunday at a sports bar and dance club called Mexican Village.
Ciminelli says officers in the area heard the gunshots and arrived before a 911 call was made.
The man who died was 29. A 26-year-old man is in guarded condition.
The Rochester Democrat and Chronicle (http://on.rocne.ws/1UVsIgo ) reports that the victims ranged in age from 21 to 30.
Ciminelli says police are interviewing about 40 people who were nearby at the time.
