LAS VEGAS (AP) — Prison officials say a 55-year-old man serving two life sentences for lewdness with a child may have killed himself.

Nevada Department of Corrections officials said Tuesday that Quentin Hendricks died the day before at the Humboldt General Hospital in Winnemucca, Nevada.

The agency's statement didn't say where Hendricks was imprisoned but the nearest facility is the Humboldt Conservation Camp.

Authorities say Hendricks had been in prison since Jan. 21, 1999 serving two consecutive sentences with a maximum of life with the possibility of parole.

Online records show Hendricks was due for a parole hearing in July.

Prison officials say the Humboldt County Sheriff's Office will lead the investigation into Hendricks' death and an autopsy will be conducted.
