FORT KENT, Maine (AP) — The chancellor of the University of Maine system plans to announce the appointment of an interim president for the system's Fort Kent campus in early summer.
University of Maine at Fort Kent President Wilson Hess says he will retire in September after five years of service. A spokesman for the system says Chancellor James H. Page will be in Fort Kent later this month to discuss an interim president with campus and community leaders. An appointment will follow this summer.
Hess served as the 10th president in the history of northernmost campus in the University of Maine System. University officials say the Fort Kent campus has led Maine public universities in growth since 2010 with a gain of 24 percent.
