MONTICELLO, Utah (AP) — The U.S. Bureau of Land Management has given final approval to plans for a new ATV trail in San Juan County.

The decision allows for construction and maintenance of 6.4 miles of ATV trails that will connect designated routes in the Lockhart Basin area to similar routes in the Bridger Jack Mesa area.

The BLM will be charged with constructing and maintaining the trail in the Indian Creek area northwest of Monticello in coordination with the county and partner groups.

Plans call for the trail to be about 5 feet wide and for three new parking areas to be constructed.

Route maps and other documents are available online from the BLM.
