MADISON, Wis. (AP) — The state Department of Veterans Affairs is set to host a summit on how to better address veterans' mental health needs.
The daylong conference is scheduled for Monday at the William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital in Madison. The agenda includes an address by Madison Mayor Paul Soglin on homeless veterans. Breakout sessions focusing on the impact of military experience, deployment and readjustment issues, housing resources for veterans, helping veterans addicted to drugs and employment will follow.
DVA officials say more than 120,000 veterans live within the hospital's service area.
