BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) — Montana officials say having the state take over management of federal lands is a complicated proposition but they're looking into it. Gov. Steve Bullock says he doesn't advocate Montana taking over the roughly 25 million acres of federal land within the state's boundaries. However, the Montana Republican Party has endorsed just such a move and state officials are studying it. State takeover of federal lands also has been discussed in Wyoming, Idaho and Utah.

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — A trucking company in the North Dakota oil patch says a lawsuit by a former employee over overtime pay is without merit. Devon Seeling of Coeur d'Alene has filed a federal complaint against AM-PM Trucking LLC. Seeling says the company paid drivers a percentage of the revenue generated by each truckload, rather than overtime pay as required by law.

FORT HALL, Idaho (AP) — Authorities are investigating the stabbing death of a man in Fort Hall. Police have not released the name of the victim. They say the stabbing happened late Friday night. The victim suffered a stab wound on the upper part of his body. The case is being investigated by the Fort Hall Police Department and the FBI.
