BERLIN (AP) — Germany's unemployment rate edged below 6 percent in June, reflecting the robust state of Europe's biggest economy.

The Federal Labor Agency said Thursday that 2.614 million people were registered as unemployed, 50,000 fewer than in May and 97,000 fewer than a year earlier.

The unadjusted jobless rate dipped to 5.9 percent from 6 percent.

In seasonally adjusted terms, the unemployment rate was static at 6.1 percent, in line with economists' expectations, and the number of people out of work was down 6,000 compared with May.
