Man hits utility pole after fleeing traffic incident in Salt Lake City

The power at the intersection of 900 South and 900 West was out Tuesday night after a man hit a utility pole in the area and suffered serious injuries, police said.

The Uintah County Commission this week authorized the removal of between 300 and 500 stray or abandoned horses from a wide swath of land due to vehicle collisions, poor rangeland conditions and the health of the animals.

The incident occurred near 800 South and 400 West. Orem police said officers responded to the stolen vehicle report about 7 p.m. and the car and child were found shortly after.
