ST. GEORGE, Utah (AP) -- An attorney for polygamist sect leader Warren Jeffs has pleaded not guilty to a misdemeanor intoxication charge and a trial date has been set.

Walter "Wally" Bugden was arrested Feb. 7 by Ivins police and booked into jail.

Intoxication is a class C misdemeanor punishable by up to 90 days in jail and a fine.

Bugden entered the plea Feb. 19 in Washington County Justice Court. A jury trial is scheduled for June 25.

Bugden, 58, is represented by his legal partner, Tara Isaacson.

Bugden and Isaacson represented Jeffs, head of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, in a 2007 criminal trial.

A St. George jury convicted Jeffs on two first-degree felony counts of rape as an accomplice for his role in the marriage of an underage girl.
