SPANISH FORK — A 72-year-old Spanish Fork man was arrested Thursday and accused of sexual misconduct with a teenage girl.
Warren J. Johnson was booked into the Utah County Jail for investigation of three counts of unlawful sexual conduct with a 17-year-old.
The alleged victim and several other girls told investigators they would receive money from Johnson, according to a police booking affidavit.
The investigation began on Feb. 4 when police say the 17-year-old reported that Johnson would visit her and another girl at a local restaurant and frequently kiss and hug her.
“The minor stated that after some time, it escalated,” according to the affidavit.
After a while, the girl began going on drives with Johnson. It was during that time he would inappropriately touch her, the affidavit states, “and he would give her money when she asked for it. The minor disclosed that he had paid for around $2,000 during the time that she knew him.”
On another occasion, Johnson took the girl and her friend to a store parking lot and told them to perform sex acts on each other, the affidavit states. He then drove to a farm in Spanish Fork and had unlawful sexual contact with her, according to police.
“The minor said that she cried as this occurred,” officers wrote.
Detectives interviewed several of the girl’s friends who had also been told the story.
“They also disclosed that the minor had told them the same thing that the minor female had told me. Several of the females also disclosed that Warren had paid them money,” the police affidavit states.
