SALT LAKE CITY — A man already wanted in another state on a charge of raping a juvenile has been charged with soliciting sex from a juvenile in Salt Lake.

Brandon Severino, 30, of West Jordan, was charged Monday in 3rd District Court with enticing a minor, and sexual exploitation of a minor, both second-degree felonies; two counts of attempted sexual exploitation of a minor and three counts of dealing in harmful materials to a minor, all third-degree felonies.

Between Nov. 21 and Dec. 5, Severino engaged in an online conversation with a person he thought was a 13-year-old girl, but was actually an undercover agent with the FBI Child Exploitation Task Force, according to charging documents. He asked the “girl” to engage in sex with him, sent her pornographic videos and requested nude photos of her, the charges state.

Detectives located Severino at an apartment in Salt Lake City and arrested him.

According to charging documents, Severino has an active warrant out for his arrest in New York for allegedly raping a 16-year-old girl. A Salt Lake County Jail booking affidavit stated that Severino was on parole out of New York and also wanted in Florida.

Prosecutors have requested Severino be held without bail.
