MARRIOTT-SLATERVILLE, Weber County — Two people, including one firefighter, were hospitalized with minor injuries following a fire in Weber County on Tuesday morning, authorities said.
The fire took place at 1527 S. 1100 West in Marriott-Slaterville, officials said. The fire began inside an RV that was between two buildings, Weber Fire District Deputy Chief Britt Clark said. The blaze then spread to the two buildings.
Shortly after crews arrived about 8:40 a.m., the occupant of the RV was transported to the hospital with burns on their legs, Clark said. The patient was in good condition and expected to recover as of 4 p.m.
A firefighter was also transported to the hospital with a cut on their arm and was released by 4 p.m., Clark said.
Early investigation results show the fire was likely caused by blankets being too close to a propane heater inside the RV, according to Clark.
Crews had the blaze under control by 10:30 a.m., officials said. The fire caused significant damage to the business inside of one of the buildings next to the RV. The other building had minor burn damage to the outside, Clark said.
Rough estimations show the fire caused about $200,000 in damages, Clark said.
Fire crews from Weber County, Ogden, Riverdale, Roy, Ogden, South Ogden, North View, South Weber and Plain City responded to the fire.
