PAYSON — A Payson home sustained extensive damage in a blaze Saturday morning, firefighters said.

At 10 p.m. Friday, several neighbors called 911 and reported the fire at the home at 1315 S. 880 West, said Payson Fire Chief Scott Spencer. When crews arrived, flames were growing at the back of the home.

No one was inside at the time, Spencer said.

The woman who rents the house with her daughter is an emergency dispatcher and returned home to find it in flames, according to the chief.

Firefighters put out the blaze in about 10 minutes, he said.

The house suffered an estimated $100,000 in damage.

The cause of the fire remained unknown Saturday morning, Spencer said. It started at the back of the home near a dog house.

No people or pets were injured.
