HAMILTON, Montana — A Utah man who went missing in the Bitterroot Mountains of southwest Montana on Sunday has been found by one of the search camps, according to his family.
Kaden Laga, 25, "walked into one of the camps set up and he is healthy and well," stated a Facebook post written by his wife, Arden Laga. "He’s well enough to stay the night and fly out in helicopter first thing in the morning where we will meet him where they land."
Laga went missing Sunday in the Twin Lakes area of Ravalli County, Montana, which is located south of Missoula on the Montana-Idaho border. He became separated from his family about 3 p.m. Sunday, according to NBC Montana.
Laga was riding horseback with his father and siblings when one of the horses went lame, his mother, Debbie Laga, told NBC Montana on Tuesday. The group made plans to meet at a trailhead later in the day, but Kaden did not return, Debbie Laga said.
Search and rescue teams, along with local volunteers, used helicopters and ground crews to try and find Laga, who lives in Orem with his wife.
