OGDEN — A bird that made its way into a Rocky Mountain Power substation caused more than 5,000 customers in Ogden to lose power Thursday night.

The bird damaged a line at a station near Weber Canyon, and about 5,166 customers lost power about 7:30 p.m., said Rocky Mountain Power spokesman Spencer Hall. The estimated time of complete restoration was 10:30 p.m., but nearly 4,000 were still without power as of 11 p.m.

Power had been restored Friday morning, according to the Rocky Mountain Power website.
