SALT LAKE CITY — A Utah company announced it is recalling 11,000 pounds of chicken because of a misbranding of allergens, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service said Monday.
The recall involves 30-pound cases containing three 10-pound bags of marinated diced chicken thigh meat produced and packaged by Salt Lake City-based Deleite Foods Enterprises, Inc. on Oct. 12, 15 and 16.
The packaging of the foods did not declare it contained wheat or soy, the agency announced.
Service officials said there are no reports anyone had “adverse reactions” from the chicken and the error was noticed by an inspector. The misprint is on packages of chicken with lot codes 101218, 101518 and 101618.
Monday’s recall had no connection to the nearly 100,000 pounds of ground beef recalled on Saturday due to possible E. coli contamination. The meat was processed at a northern Utah facility.
