WEST JORDAN — A 10-year-old boy was flown to Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City after he was hit by a van while crossing a street with his dad and brother, police say.

West Jordan police officer Jennifer Worthen said the family was attempting to cross the street near Ascent Academy, 5662 W. 8200 South, when the boy was hit.

The extent of his injuries was not immediately known, but Worthen said he was stable at the hospital.

She said the driver of the van stayed at the scene of the accident and is cooperating with police.
