DRAPER — A family moving from Washington to Utah had a setback on Thursday evening as their U-Haul truck caught fire on I-15.
The adult and two children were able to get out of the truck and away from the flames safely, Draper Fire Department Battalion Chief Kevin Holt said. The truck caught fire about 7:30 p.m. near the 14600 South exit on northbound I-15, he said.
There was a fair amount of damage, including to some of the items in the back of the truck, Holt said. The family had been looking for houses on Thursday before the fire happened, he said.
The cause of the blaze was possibly an engine fire, Holt said. There were no other cars involved and no other damage, he added.
