WEST VALLEY CITY — Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who allegedly stole beer from a gas station convenience store.
West Valley City police public information officer Roxeanne Vainuku said the theft occurred July 27 at the Holiday Oil at 4391 W. 3500 South. A man walked into the convenience store around 12 a.m. with a white plastic grocery bag, Vainuku said. He walked back to the beer cooler, grabbed an 18-pack of beer and put it inside the grocery bag before walking out of the store, Vainuku said.
The cashier didn’t make an attempt to chase the man, but notified police of the theft.
The thief was described as a male in his teens or early 20s with medium complexion. He was wearing a black T-shirt, red gym shorts, black tennis shoes and a black hat with a blue brim at the time of the robbery. Vainuku said he may also have an earring in his right ear.
Anyone with information about the theft can contact West Valley City police at 801-840-4000.
