SALT LAKE CITY — It's National Root Beer Float Day today, and we're taking it to the next level with these recipes.
The root beer float is well-known among Americans. I recently discovered that other countries aren't as familiar with the delectable recipe. My friend, a German exchange student, thought the idea of mixing pop and ice cream was unfathomable. She couldn't imagine how Americans came up with it or why they liked it. American or not, though, these recipes are a must.
Coke Float Push-up Pops
This recipe takes the summer heat and kicks it to the curb. It's a frozen recipe that may become your new favorite.
Sparkling Fruit Float
Are you looking for something a little more fruity? This recipe will give your taste buds an exciting flavor.
Ingredients:
Bottle well-chilled Welch's Cherry Limeade Sparkling Cocktail Three cups lemon, lime or mango sorbet Lime wedges, for garnish
Divide the sorbet among three different glasses. Top the glasses off with your Welch's juice. Fancy up the glasses with the lime wedges, and enjoy.
Butterbeer Float
