STANSBURY PARK, Tooele County — Two men charged in connection with the fatal stabbing of a Stansbury High School senior made their first court appearance Monday morning.

Larry Beach, 20, from San Antonio, Texas, was charged with murder last week in the death of 17-year-old Jesse Horowitz.

According to court documents, Horowitz and a group of teens went to Stansbury Elementary School on April 25 to watch a fight. Beach and Horowitz got into a fight, and Horowitz was stabbed, allegedly by Beach, seven to nine times.

Beach appeared in Tooele's 3rd District Court on Monday morning with his attorneys, saying only a few words to the judge. Beach's attorneys pushed to get the case in motion.

The judge set a roll call hearing for June 3 and set Beach's at $1 million.

Beach's cousin, Roy Coffey, 19, of Stansbury Park, is charged with obstruction of justice. His attorney fought to reduce his bail from $50,000 to $5,000 with a GPS monitor. The judge agreed and set Coffey's next court date for June 24.

Horowitz's mother, Darcy Horowitz, sat in the audience wearing a shirt with her son's picture on it. She had about 10 people with her as a support group, but they declined to comment on the case.
