SALT LAKE CITY — Police released surveillance video Friday of a man they believe forcibly raped a female juvenile.

The Salt Lake City Police Department is hoping the public will be able to help identify and locate the man in the video, who they said is a suspect in a case involving the forcible rape of a juvenile in early April.

"The victim stated she met a black male adult in the area of the shelter who brought her to the southeast corner of Pioneer Park in Salt Lake City and forced her to have sex with him," a statement from the police department reads.

Investigators said the female juvenile described the man as being a black male of a light complexion who was wearing white pants, a dark red jacket with a red or maroon shirt underneath it and a beanie.

The surveillance video released by police was obtained from the Greyhound Bus Terminal at 600 W. 300 South, investigators said. Both the female juvenile and man visited the terminal on the day of the assault, according to police.

Anyone with information about the man or the case can contact the Salt Lake City Police Department by calling 801-799-3000 or by texting TIPSLCPD plus relevant information to 274637. Tips can be sent anonymously by text, police said.
