PROVO — For a second time, Carrie Underwood will be headlining the Stadium of Fire performance on July 4.

The Freedom Festival announced Tuesday that Underwood would be headlining the annual concert at LaVell Edwards Stadium on Independence Day. Underwood first performed at the Stadium of Fire in 2010.

“As we surveyed previous attendees of Stadium of Fire, one name came up repeatedly as the most-wanted performer for 2014,” said Paul Warner, Executive Director of America’s Freedom Festival. “Carrie Underwood sold out our show back in 2010, and she is the clear favorite to return. She made quite the impression four years ago with a spectacular concert.”

The six-time Grammy winner and three-time female vocalist awards from the Country Music Association and the Academy of Country Music will be joined by the cast of BYUtv’s sketch comedy show, “Studio C.”

The Stadium of Fire is in its 34th year, is attended by 40,000 people, and televised to more than one million military members.

Tickets for the event will go on sale Friday, March 21 at 8 a.m. The general public can purchase tickets online at byutickets.com or stadiumoffire.com.
