WEST VALLEY CITY — A man accused of firing several shots outside a restaurant in December, narrowly missing several people, has been charged and arrested.

Edgar Flores, 25, was charged this week in 3rd District Court with three counts of aggravated assault and six counts of illegal discharge of a firearm. All charges are third-degree felonies.

On Dec. 8, Flores got into a fight with another man in the restroom at Las Islitas restaurant, near 3500 South and 3100 West, police said. The two men then exited the restaurant.

As Flores drove out of the parking lot, prosecutors say he fired six rounds at the other man, the man's friend and his 12-year-old son. No one was injured, but the victim's car was hit four times.

Another bullet traveled across the street and into an apartment living room where a tenant was working on a computer. It was originally reported by police that a baby was also sleeping in the apartment at the time.
