LINDON — An order to Lindon residents to boil water has been lifted, officials said Sunday evening.
Friday, water in Lindon City tested positive for E. coli bacteria and residents were instructed to boil all drinking or washing water for at least one minute. Sunday night, the order was lifted after two tests came back negative and the Utah County Health Department certified the water as safe to drink.
Police said the city would be conducting daily water tests into the near future.
The organizations were still trying to determine the source of contamination Sunday.
E. coli can cause nausea, diarrhea, cramps, among other symptoms and poses a greater risk to infants, young children, the elderly and people with compromised immune systems. Anyone with symptoms are told to report them to a doctor.
