OGDEN — Several police departments and members of the FBI found and arrested a man Thursday who police say was responsible for robbing a Wasatch Peaks Credit Union on April 6.
A man with a rifle entered the Wasatch Peaks Credit Union near near 3012 South and 1900 West in Ogden and ordered the employees to give him money. The man was caught on surveillance camera dressed in a welder's jacket, black ski mask and a yellow hard hat.
The Ogden and Weber County Police departments continued investigation of the robbery in connection with members of the FBI Task Force, and on Thursday they issued a search warrant at the man's residence.
Finis Ray Byrd, 71, was arrested after police officers were able to detect a substantial amount of evidence at the residence that linked Byrd to the robbery.
Byrd is a convicted felon and unlawfully had possession of three firearms in his home that were seized during the arrest.
Byrd was booked into the Weber County Jail for Aggravated Robbery and three counts of Possession of a Firearm by a Restricted Person.
