SPRINGVILLE — A Springville teenager missing for more than a week and thought to have run away with her 19-year-old boyfriend is now considered endangered, according to police.

Katy Kendall, 16, left home early in the morning of April 23 with Zachary Metcalf, a 19-year-old Texas man. A friend told Kendall's parents the couple had spent a few hours at her Provo home before being dropped off by the friend at a bus stop to ride to Salt Lake City.

Kendall's mother later reported the girl as a runaway. Since the teen has not been in contact with her family or authorities since April 23 and her current whereabouts are unknown, she has been listed as missing and endangered.

Metcalf is reportedly in the Army Reserve and arrived in Utah in either March or April. Kendall posted on Facebook that they were engaged as early as March 17.

Her mother told police the two began dating in mid-April. On April 17, Kendall's iPod was pawned in Provo, and police had some minor contact with the two on April 19. Kendall had not been reported as a runaway at that point.

The couple posted photos of themselves in Provo Canyon on April 20. Their trail ran cold in Salt Lake City, though, where police said Metcalf pawned the family's laptop in on April 23.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact the Springville Police Department at 801-489-9421 or by submitting a form on their website.

A vigil will be held for Kendall Wednesday at 8 p.m. at Pioneer Park in Provo.
