PROVO — Police have arrested two men in connection with a string of residential burglaries in south-west Provo.

Travis Draper, 22, and Austin Warden, 26, were arrested Wednesday in connection with a Provo Police Department investigation into nine different cases of stolen jewelry over the past six months.

Officer Rory Rasmussen with the Provo Police Department responded Feb. 15 to a burglary in progress at about 1600 West and 700 South. Rasmussen's K-9, Trigger, followed footprints left by the burglar that led to the back door of the burglar's residence.

As of this week, police have solved nine burglaries in the area, with stolen items valued at about $30,000.

Information gathered at the residence led police to Warden, who was found to have pawned multiple items identified by victims of the burglaries. Security footage showed Warden with Draper while pawning the apparently stolen goods, which were valued at $15,000 total for the 15 items.

As of this week, police have solved nine burglaries in the area, with stolen items valued at about $30,000.

Police served a search warrant Wednesday at Warden's home, where they found evidence of stolen goods. "Our investigation continues, and could lead to additional burglaries being solved and stolen property recovered," said Lt. Mathew Siufanua.

Draper was booked into the Utah County Jail on 10 counts of possession of stolen property and 10 counts of theft by deception, which were enhanced to third-degree felonies due to prior convictions. He was also booked for possession of drug paraphernalia. Warden was booked on five counts of possession of stolen property, five counts of theft by deception with priors, no seat belt and a denied driver's license.
