SALT LAKE CITY — Google has released run and lift maps of 38 North American ski resorts, including four in Utah.

The company announced the release Wednesday in a blog post touting maps of "some of the most popular mountains across the U.S. and Canada."

The four Utah resorts mapped are Brighton, Deer Valley, Snow Basin and Park City Mountain Resort.

The maps show blue, green and black runs as solid-colored lines. Ski lifts are shown as red dotted lines. Street View has been released of "a few select resorts," including Deer Valley in Park City.

Google noted in the post that users can use the maps to plot their course before heading out on the slopes, or else use them when already out on the mountain.

"We hope you'll use these maps to discover new trails and find your way around the mountain more quickly and easily," the post said. "We've got more ski resort maps on the way."

This is the second major Maps release in a week. One Jan. 31, the company released 75 miles of Street View of the Grand Canyon.
