PROVO — A woman is in custody after allegedly barricading herself in her mobile home and shooting at police.

About 8:30 a.m. Thursday morning, police report that a 43-year-old woman contacted them threatening to kill herself with a gun. When they arrived, officers made contact with the woman, who was in the bedroom of her mobile home in a trailer park at 1600 West and 255 North.

Provo Police Department Lt. Matt Siufanua said the woman then shot one round through her bedroom door at police and proceeded to tell officers she was going to shoot them. No officers were injured. Police then evacuated nearby trailers as a precaution.

Officers then called negotiators, who were able to talk her out of the bedroom after three hours, after which she was taken into custody. She was transported to the hospital for evaluation.

Police said charges are pending and that alcohol was involved in the incident.
