High school students trying to help terminally ill toddler meet Taylor Swift

NORWELL, Mass. — Thousands of high school students want to help a little girl's wish come true and they're hoping for a 'swift' response.

Five-year-old Caroline Cronk has been diagnosed with DIPG, an inoperable brain tumor.

"We asked them to not sugar-coat anything and asked them how bad it was," said Caroline's father Kevin Cronk. "The doctor said, 'It's the worst.' "

DIPG is the deadliest of pediatric cancers and affects about 200 children a year and only 2-percent survive.

"You just see your life flash before your eyes," Caroline's mother, Rachel Cronk, said. "You see her life flash before your eyes."

Support for Caroline has gone viral with a Facebook page, Hope for Caroline, and a tweet from a high schooler was shared by Boston Bruins player Tyler Seguin. Much of the support online is an effort to help Caroline meet her idol, Taylor Swift.

Caroline's parents would love for their little girl to get the chance to meet Swift, but their main focus in ont heir daughter and raising awareness of this deadly disease.

"I think it's important that whatever happens with us that 10 years from now that another child has more of a chance than she's (Caroline" been given right now," Rachel Cronk said.
