SALT LAKE CITY — A man who crashed his vehicle into a moving train Saturday night walked away unharmed.
The crash, at 1700 South and 900 West, occurred when a car reportedly crashed through the train track's warning arms and into a freight train.
Salt Lake City Police Department Lt. Josh Scharman said that the driver of the car, the single occupant of the vehicle, was uninjured, and no damages had been reported for the train.
As of Saturday evening, investigators were unsure if weather was a factor, and had yet to officially release a cause for the crash. The driver of the vehicle was given a field sobriety test and then handcuffed.
The speed of both the train and car at the time of impact was also unknown.
