KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia (AP) — The International Olympic Committee has awarded exclusive Olympic broadcast rights in 22 Asia-Pacific countries to Japan-based advertising agency Dentsu Inc.
The IOC on Wednesday said the deal covers the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea, the 2020 Summer Games in Tokyo and yet-to-be awarded games in 2022 and 2024.
The value of the deal was not disclosed.
The agreement covers Olympic broadcast rights in Afghanistan Brunei, Cambodia, East Timor, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Tajikistan, Thailand, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Vietnam.
Dentsu is also the Olympic broadcast partner in the Asian region for next year's Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.
