Urawa beats Niigata 2-1 to maintain lead in J-League

TOKYO (AP) — Shinzo Koroki scored both goals on Saturday as Urawa Reds beat Albirex Niigata 2-1 to maintain its lead in the J-League.

Koroki put the visitors ahead in the seventh minute and sealed the win in the final minute of regulation as Urawa improved to 37 points, six ahead of Kawasaki Frontale with two games remaining. Rafael Silva scored late in the first half for Niigata.

Kawasaki beat defending champion Sanfrecce Hiroshima 2-0 with goals from Kentaro Moriya and Kengo Nakamura.

Also, Vegalta Sendai beat third-placed Vissel Kobe 3-0 while Gamaba Osaka and Yokohama F Marinos shared the points in a 2-2 draw.

Omiya Ardija beat Shonan Bellmare 3-2 and Ventforet Kofu edged Avispa Fukuoka 2-1.

FC Tokyo defeated Kashima Antlers 2-1.
