LONDON (AP) — West Ham has signed Italy forward Simone Zaza on loan from Juventus for a fee of 5 million euros ($5.6 million) as the club's 11th recruit of the transfer window.

West Ham said Sunday a permanent fee of 20 million euros ($22.4 million) will be triggered automatically after a certain number of Premier League appearances this season.

Zaza played for Italy in the European Championship, missing a penalty after a stuttering run-up in the country's shootout loss to Germany in the quarterfinals.

The arrival of the left-footed attacker will help solve an injury crisis at West Ham, with Andy Carroll and Andre Ayew currently injured and question marks over the future of Diafra Sakho.

West Ham failed to qualify for the Europa League group stage last week.
