Two men were arrested after a stolen car crashed into a Lewiston home. The Lewiston Tribune reports the 27-year-old driver faces charges of felony eluding, grand theft and felony unlawful entry. A 28-year-old male passenger was held on an outstanding warrant. Lewiston Police Officer Chris Reese says he attempted a traffic stop late Saturday afternoon on a car reported stolen and it took off at high speed. The car crashed into a home where three people were inside.
State wildlife officials in central Idaho say they killed an orphaned black bear cub rather than send it to a rehabilitation facility because success isn't guaranteed, and Idaho already has a healthy black bear population. Terry Thompson of the Idaho Department of Fish and Game tells the Idaho Mountain Express that the agency generally doesn't consider big game animals for rehabilitation.
Idaho authorities have identified a man fatally shot by police after a high-speed chase. Police identified the suspect Thursday as 28-year-old David Bamber Jr. of Pleasanton, California. The Twin Falls Police Department says Bamber was wanted for burglary and firearm possession charges by California authorities and was a suspect in two kidnappings in Nevada.
