Two groups have filed a lawsuit in federal court to block a proposed power transmission line that would run through two counties in Oregon’s northeast corner. The Stop B2H Coalition and Greater Hells Canyon Council, both based in La Grande, filed the suit this week in U.S. District Court in Pendleton. The plaintiffs contend the Bureau of Land Management and U.S. Forest Service failed to adequately review the potential environmental impacts of the Idaho Power Company project.

Pullman police have identified the 19-year-old student who died at a Washington State University fraternity Tuesday as freshman Samuel Martinez of Bellevue, Washington.
