Authorities say two drivers were killed when a motorhome towing another vehicle and a pickup truck towing a travel trailer collided in eastern Oregon. KATU-TV reports 78-year-old Richard Kozol of Medford was driving a Gulfstream motorhome when for an unknown reason it crossed into the westbound lanes on Highway 20 near Harper. Oregon State Police say Kozol collided with a Ford F-250 pickup operated by 72-year-old John Haynes of Palo Cedro, California.
Authorities have released the names of four northern Idaho law enforcement officers who were involved in the Sept. 4 shooting death of 29-year-old Fares Al-Samno in Coeur d'Alene. The Post Falls Police Department says Craig Wade, Nathan Herbig and Jacob Brazle with the Coeur d'Alene Police Department and Doug Goodman with the Kootenai County Sheriff's Office were involved in the shooting. The name of a fifth officer with the Idaho State Police was not released.
The brother of a man standing trial for a third time in a decades-old double murder case says he committed the murders alone, without the help of defendant Mark Lankford. The Idaho Press reports Bryan Lankford gave the testimony Monday in his brother's trial. Bryan, who is serving a life sentence in connection with the killings of U.S. Marine Capt. Robert Bravence and his wife, Cheryl Bravence, has claimed he acted alone in the killings before. But he's also previously recanted that claim.
